The mission of my research is to conduct clinically-relevant, high-impact, and innovative research on feeding-related problems in infants and young children.

  • Development of Assessment Tools for Feeding and Gastrointestinal Symptoms

In this area of my work, I have developed a variety of assessment tools for measuring feeding and gastrointestinal symptoms in infants and children.

  • Flow Rates from Bottle Nipples/Teats

In this area of my work, I have studied the flow rates of bottle nipples/teats, the impact of different things (e.g., formula type, thickness) on flow rate, and the impact of flow rate on feeding in infants.

  • Feeding & GI Symptoms in Infants and Young Children

In this area of my work, I have studied feeding and gastrointestinal symptoms in different groups of children, including children born preterm, with congenital heart disease, with tongue-tie, and in healthy, otherwise typically-developing children.

  • Stress and Trauma in Infants with Medical Complexity

In this area of my work, I have studied the impacts of stress and trauma on infants with special medical needs, how to measure stress, and interventions to reduce stress and trauma in these vulnerable babies.
